Trendsetter Homes Wins Prestigious Master Builders WA Award for Art Deco-Inspired Mount Lawley Residence
The Grosvenor, a luxury two-storey residence with a basement, has been recognised for its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative design and construction excellence on a compact 265m² inner-city block.
Perth-based custom home builder Trendsetter Homes has been awarded the Contract Home $1 Million to $2 Million category at the 2026 Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards for The Grosvenor, an Art Deco-inspired luxury residence in Mount Lawley.
Situated on a 265-square-metre inner-city block, The Grosvenor showcases the builder's expertise in delivering sophisticated architectural homes on constrained sites. The striking two-storey residence, complete with a basement, combines timeless Art Deco influences with contemporary design, functionality and meticulous attention to detail.
The project presented significant construction challenges, including restricted site access, complex basement excavation requirements and extensive soil stabilisation works. Successfully delivering the home required detailed planning, precise engineering and seamless coordination between specialist trades throughout the construction process.
A standout feature of the residence is its purpose-built recording studio, which was incorporated into the architectural plans from the outset. The dedicated space demonstrates the builder's ability to integrate highly specialised lifestyle requirements into a thoughtfully designed luxury home.
The Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievements in residential construction, celebrating exceptional workmanship, construction quality and attention to detail across Western Australia's building industry.
Managing Director and registered builder Michael Agostino said the award reflected the planning behind the build.
"The Grosvenor asked a lot of a small block: two storeys, plus basement and a recording studio that had to work as well as it looks. Our site team and trades planned every stage before excavation began, and this award is theirs as much as ours."
Michael Agostino and Trendsetter Homes in-house designer Colin Te Braake accepted the prestigious award at the ceremony held on Friday, 28 August 2026.
The latest recognition builds on Trendsetter Homes continued success in Western Australia's residential construction industry. At the 2025 HIA Perth Housing Awards, the company also secured the Custom Built Home $1.2 Million to $1.7 Million award for a bespoke residence in Marmion.
Together, these achievements reinforce Trendsetter Homes reputation for delivering architecturally distinctive custom homes that combine innovative design, technical precision and superior craftsmanship, even on the most demanding residential sites.
